Women : In the eyes of Islam
This morning, I got up early (well, slept early last night..hehe), had a scrumptious breakfast, and of course, I switched on the 'Magic Box'.
I watched AlHijrah's morning show, 'Assalamualaikum'.. the topic was interesting and caught my attention, 'Ibu bahagia membahagiakan' or Happy Mothers bring Happiness.
They invited a motivator whose name I did not catch. Anyway, I've learned this one thing from her.
Our inner-self or soul affects our surroundings. If we want to have a happy blissful blessed life, then we should firstly have a happy blissful blessed heart, soul or self. If we are happy, everyone around us will be happy as well. Everything starts from within us.
How is that possible, you may ask?
1. Well, it begins with our mind. Our thoughts.
2. From thoughts, it becomes our 'Niat' or intentions.
3. Intentions creates utterances, words.
4. Words, sayings, utterances (whatever you call it), affects our actions.
5. Actions when repeats, becomes routines, or habits.
6. Habits affects those around us.
Seeing how powerful our mind is.. POSITIVE thinking or being OPTIMIST is the key to a successful, blissful, happy life.

The incredible BRAIN - www.cartoonaday.com |
That was what I've learned from the first segment of the show.
In the next segment, the topic was 'Ciri-Ciri Isteri Solehah'. Hehe, I know some of my friends who would LOOOOVEEE to read this.. :)
According to some Ulama's, these are the things that both Muslims and Muslimah need to take into account when selecting their bride-to-be or groom-to-be.
1. Solatnya
2. Bacaannya (al-Quran)
3. Ilmu agamanya
4. Keterimaannya
5. Kesihatannya
If we want a blessed life, with Soleh husband, or Solehah wife, as well as children of 'ahli syurga'.. then we have to prepare ourselves to fit these five criterias..
From this day forward, Solat should never be neglected if we want our future lifelong partner to be like that as well. Al-quran should be read EVERYDAY. We need to learn 'Ilmu Agama' and practice them. Once all of these three are achieved, then we will not have any problem accepting our future husband or wife as he or she is (terimanya seadanya). And finally, take care of our health. We are not encourage to take those with infected diseases (penyakit berjangkit) as our partner.
An interesting remark the Ustaz said is about Doa'. A caller asked for a Doa' for us to get Soleh husband or Solehah wife..
He recommended we pray or Doa in our language, he said, understanding is very important. If we memorize doa in Arab, and recite them thousand times but not once we understood, it is useless. So we should doa' in our native language. Insyallah, Allah understands.
He said, if whenever we saw someone who has the traits or characteristics that we would love to have in our partner or children.. just pray to Allah as you saw the person.
Let's say you saw a guy. That guy portrays personality that you like. You should immediately say a Doa, 'Ya Allah, Kurniakanlah aku suami yang soleh/ baik/bijak sepertinya..'. Or if you saw cute, beautiful children, you can say, 'Ya Allah Kurniakanlah aku anak-anak yang cantik dan sihat sepertinya...'.
Things like that. :)
Hopefully, we learn something today. Amin.
